14 major Hydroxycut products were voluntarily recalled on the same day as the FDA released a press release indicating that Hydroxycut products posed a serious risk to consumer health. In January of 2009, it was indicated that Hydroxycut products had caused the liver failure and death of an 18 or 19 year old boy! There are some who speculated as to abuse of the products. But for anyone who has dealt with an alcoholic family and history of renal failure, you have a pretty fair idea of how many years it takes to develop renal failure severe enough to lead to death, even with severe alcohol abuse.

Some ingredients in the old formulas could be considered somewhat dangerous, and yet many would say that they don’t explain the severity of problems associated with these products. Now they have reformulated, and the new formulas seem extremely innocuous. Their first ephedrine ban did quite a bit of damage to their reputation. You would have thought that they would be more careful. But obviously not.

The new formulas in the Hydroxycut line, are largely made up of a number of popularly known superfruits. These superfruits are often rich in vitamins and potentially powerful antioxidants. But unfortunately, they do not actually promote weight loss or fat burning results. It’s not all that surprising. They are running scared right now, just as they should be. But they don’t have to use dangerous ingredients as they seem to think to get results. There are actually a great number of stimulant free and completely safe ingredients that can produce results sometimes better than caffeine based formulas. But unfortunately, with Hydroxycut, you will not find that particular effect.
